About Fabrizio Viti

Fabrizio Viti was born and raised in the small Tuscan city of Carrara, known fondly for its abundance of marble. A strong female presence in his family, coupled with a love of fashion dolls and 1970s TV shows, informed young Fabrizio’s aesthetic world, which, later specialising in sculpture at Carrara’s art school, blossomed into a burgeoning talent for shoe design.

Over the next two decades, Fabrizio’s professional career saw the women’s and men’s shoes he designed steer both the luxury fashion industry and popular culture as he rose to become leading shoe designer at Gucci, then Prada, and in 2004, Louis Vuitton, where he continues to explore his passion as the House’s Shoe Style Director.

Time-honoured techniques. Every shoe is crafted using traditional Italian processes and materials.

About the brand

A world so personal and intimate that to wear the shoes bearing his name is to be transported into the very heart of their creation. A spellbinding Parisian apartment, filled with sensual Gio Ponti furniture; the television room showing reruns of Bewitched and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (dubbed in Italian, for extra effect); a ‘playroom’ housing the extraordinary collection of circa 1970s Barbie dolls; walls adorned with black-and-white photographs of the female idols – Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, Barbra Streisand, Candice Bergen – whose spirit and influence can be felt within the rich colours, exuberant shapes and whimsical design details that characterize a Fabrizio Viti shoe.

From this scene of blissful domesticity, the luxury pumps, sandals, ballerinas and boots that Fabrizio obsesses over, reveal a love affair with both the art of shoe design and the wonderful women destined to wear them. Across the planet, these are women aged 15 to 85, connoisseurs and the curious alike, whose own identities bring further life to the world that Fabrizio conjures up with his heart and hand.
